Accessible Rooms at Woodlands Country House
Woodlands Country House is proud to offer two ground-floor rooms for wheelchair users, disabled and infirm guests. The rooms are at the back of the guesthouse overlooking the countryside sloping down to Trevone Bay and the sea. Quiet and restful accommodation.
These two rooms can interconnect for carers or other family, or be completely separate. Both rooms have ramped access from a near-by designated parking place. There is level access (apart from one small ramp) into the breakfast room and the rest of the guesthouse’s public rooms; the Blue Room and the Honesty Bar, the DVD library, The Morning Room and Reception. We have made these rooms to be accessible yet not clinical; comfortable for not only disabled guests, but also for able bodied.
The Conservatory Room – can be a double or twin room, and is built for wheelchair users or family interconnecting rooms. There is a roll-in shower with stool, transfer bars and shower with two directional shower-heads. The basin has rails and a high stool can be provided, there are transfer bars for the lavatory. The hot water is governed for the safety of the elderly as well as young children. Switches are at accessible levels and side-lights work on touch. Suitable for children with parents in the room next door: The heated conservatory has a plug for charging wheelchairs; sit and admire the view with a drink, in comfort.
The Terrace Room – is a double bedroom with bathroom en-suite. This room is suitable for elderly and/or slightly infirm guests. There is a private terrace that looks out over the fields and a dressing room that can take a cot or put-u-up-bed.
Both rooms have direct dial phones with modem access, also WiFi connection a computer for guest use in the Morning Room. The rooms have flat-screen digital TV with DVD. CD player for story discs in a large-digit clock-radio. We have brail brochure and menus for blind guests. Outside; there is decking with a gentle ramp down to the big lawn.
